Web 2.0 Tool Smackdown #2

The Web 2.0 Tool that I decided to present for Smackdown #2 is Edpuzzle. I have used Edpuzzle in the past and it is an amazing resource to use as an educator. This tool can be used for all age ranges and is very user-friendly. I have already done a few lessons using Edpuzzle and it is definitely a resource I plan on using in the future. It is an easy way to share and collaborate with coworkers and easy to assign to students. I love this tool because it holds students accountable by teachers being able to insert questions throughout the video lesson to ensure students are paying attention. This requires them to focus. Edpuzzle can be assigned as homework at home or even done as a group activity in class. Edpuzzle allows students to be very engaged while allowing teachers to gain data simultaneously. I just love how educational resources are so easily accessible and shared on the web like youtube and within your small school community. If you are thinking about becoming a teacher, please consider using this amazing web tool!

  1. Hi Lauren. I have used Edpuzzle numerous times during high school and can definitely say it helped me retain material and information. I can definitely see why you believe Edpuzzle would be a great tool for educators. I know I always found Edpuzzles to be a fun break from regular class lectures, so it makes sense as to why it has become pretty popular over the past few years. Although the questions during an Edpuzzle could become repetitive and take away from the flow of the lecture, I like how it gives teachers the opportunity to ask questions at the exact point in time when it is needed. Great job!

  2. Hi Lauren,
I've never heard of Edpuzzle! Your presentation gave me a great overview and it looks like it's a fun tool to keep students and teachers engaged. I like the various options that this tool provides to its users and how it seems to be very community focused. I think if I was still in K-12 schools, I would really enjoy using this!

  4. Hi Lauren, I have heard of edpuzzle and never actually knew what it was about so thank you for shedding some light on that for me. I think this is certainly beneficial for students considering it is so easy to get lost in video lectures so having the questions pop up to hold you accountable is great. Considering that most of school is in person now, how do you think you can incorporate this as a tool in class?
